The all new quote generator is a fantastic tool which we feel will be very useful to yourselves.  You can enter your requirements onto the quote generator and get an instant price.  Not only does it show your price, it also gives you a unique quotation number which enables you to retrieve your quote at any time of the day or night.  If you choose to order your goods online, you get the same, wide choice of delivery options that are available from ourselves if you were to contact us via telephone.  You are then showed a complete price for your goods.  Details of your order are sent via email directly to the sales team and you will receive a conformation email as soon as your order is received by ourselves.  This feature is only available to accounts with an annual spend of £10,000 plus.

The product pages now show large, clear pictures of all our products.  Incorporated within these page are a large range of specification/data sheets, giving you complete access to all the technical data that you may need.

When it comes to specifying flexible metallic hoses, operational safety has become a number one priority.  Breaking this down, if a hose fails, there is the personal safety of employees to consider, the safety of the production process and safety of the environment due to any subsequent leakage.  Each of these components has financial implications attached.

The cost of possible compensation, clean up and production downtime surely outweighs the extra investment in specifying hoses that are totally fit-for-purpose.  Given this fact why do some hose suppliers skimp on the cost and quality for their production materials and service offer?

Some see flexible hoses as a commodity item, purchased solely on the lowest price.  However, within this highly competitive marketplace, there are significant variations in quality.  Quality of the raw manufacturing materials is the first issue.  A hose is generally made-up of a hose core, hose cover or braid and end connections.  For optimum service life, each of these components should be selected with operational compatibility in mind.  Experienced technical staff should evaluate each application, specifying the exact material specifications to suit the particular operational parameters.

Materials should come from a proven reputable source with full product traceability.  Each hose should be manufactured by skilled technicians with relevant hose manufacturing experience and qualifications.  Welding should be carried-out by appropriately certified coded welders.  Each hose should have its own identity tag so that hose details and date of manufacture can easily be traced.  Every hose should be individually pressure tested and certificates of conformity should be available.  In addition, the hose manufacturer should be operating in accordance with relevant ISO standards.

The formula is simple; get the specification right, use high quality materials, utilise skilled staff, ensure total product traceability and enjoy peace of mind.

Many flexible metallic hoses in use today are supplied without appropriate identification.  This can cause problems when it comes to hose replacement.  Un-identified hoses have to be measured for bore, length and the relevant end fittings have to be identified.  Invariably, this involves a site visit for the hose supplier – a time consuming and somewhat costly task.  In addition, the margin for specification error can be increased.

Metalflex have introduced a simple but effective system which alleviates all of these problems.  Hoses manufactured by the company can be 'tagged' showing comprehensive customer details – thus making future identification and re-ordering a simple task.

The tag is in the form of a simple metallic ring, which slides over the outside diameter of the hose.  Once in place, the tag cannot be removed.  Hose details are etched into the ring which eliminates the potential for erosion due to abrasion.  The tag ensures that the manufacturing history of the hose is fully traceable.

In addition to the part number, hoses can be identified with almost any combination of customer detail including customer name, operating parameters, bore, length, date of manufacture, etcetera.  To reorder a hose tagged in this way, it is simply a matter of quoting the part number displayed.  The comprehensive database at Metalflex will allow the full specification of the hose to be identified.
